Thin Film Luminescence

Thin Film Luminescence publishes peer-reviewed scientific papers of original Research Articles, Communications, and Reviews. Papers submitted to Thin Film Luminescence for publication should encompass new experimental or theoretical results, contributing sufficient new insights to the current scientific community. Thin Film Luminescence also publishes papers reporting on modeling and simulation work of related field. The scope of Thin Film Luminescence is addressed in, but not limited to, the following:

  • Deposition and growth (physical deposition techniques, chemical synthesis routes, electrochemical or photo-electrochemical processes, etc)
  • Surfaces and interfaces (surface modification, surface functionalization, heterostructures, morphological and topographical studies, vibronic and electronics properties, interface states, space charge layers, defects states, etc)
  • Luminescence phenomenon (fluorescence, phosphorescence, photoluminescence, electroluminescence, cathodoluminescence, quantum confinement, electronic excited states, excited states of impurities, radiative and non-radiative recombination, relaxation processes, electron spin resonance, photo-induced absorption, polaritons, charge transport, etc)
  • Device applications (light emitting diodes, lasers, solar cells, photodetectors, modulators, waveguides, sensors, radiography, bioimaging, scintillators, etc)
  • Optical spectroscopy (absorption, Raman scattering, photoluminescence, etc)
  • Theoretical simulation and numerical analysis (density functional theory, numerical modeling, molecular dynamics simulation, etc)
